Let’s cut through the corporate bullshit.

I didn’t build Diecast Or Death because the world needed another generic online toy store. I built it because I’m a collector, and I was tired of how hard it has become to enjoy this hobby.

Scalper pricing. Empty pegs. The same case collecting dust for months. Hunting down ten cars from ten different sellers, then paying ten different shipping charges. Endless scrolling or blink-and-you-miss-it auctions just to find a casting you actually want.

I came to the point where I had to decide: keep complaining, walk away, or build something different. 

So I built Diecast Or Death.

An independent, collector-run store built around the way I wanted to collect. Somewhere you can hunt for a childhood favorite, track down a specific variation, or put together a proper haul without bouncing between a dozen sellers. Somewhere you can find more than the latest trendy castings. The classics we remember playing with as kids, alongside the ones we never could convince Mom and Dad to buy us.

Behind it is an archive organized with the kind of detail collectors care about: release year, real-world make and model, casting, color, paint, and, where it matters, wheel variations. Because when you know exactly what you’re hunting for, “assorted toy car” doesn’t cut it.

That attention shouldn’t stop at the listing. A collectible deserves care, whether it’s headed for a display case or filling the last gap in a set. That’s why every car with a listed price over $5 ships in a clamshell protector, included. Not an upsell. Not a surprise charge. Just part of how I want to do business.

I’m not going to pretend this is some faceless corporation. I’m Jefe. This store comes from my own love of collecting, my frustration with the buying experience, and the decision to devote my time and attention towards building an alternative.

The archive will keep growing. But the point isn’t just to have more cars. It’s to make finding your next one less of a headache, and give you a reason to enjoy the hunt again.
